The way most spaces are cleaned ignores how often people touch, breathe and live in them.
Glen and Monique are seasoned professionals from the technology and operations world.
Their backgrounds span software engineering, ICT, commercial property and property management for ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
After relocating to the Netherlands to be closer to family, the intention was to build another technology-led business.
The question wasn’t if, but where.
The answer came from an unexpected place.

By chance, their son, an accomplished mechatronic engineer, asked for help preparing his property for sale. The task was simple. Clean the home, stage it properly, and get it ready for listing photos.
During the clean, two things stood out immediately.
First, mould in the bathrooms that hadn’t been properly addressed.
Second, the cleaning products being used to deal with it.
They were harsh, chemical-heavy, and poorly suited to the surfaces and spaces they were being used in.
That raised questions.
Coming from a background of being deliberate about materials and exposure, the chemicals didn’t sit right.
Glen and Monique had previously founded a business focused on reducing plastic use through environmentally responsible tape and labelling solutions. Being mindful about inputs wasn’t new to them.
So they started looking closer.
What they found was consistent across homes and offices:
harsh chemicals used by default
poor cleaning methods
excessive moisture
little understanding of surfaces or materials
And yet, this was accepted as normal.

Another issue quickly became clear.
Cleaning was treated as low-skill work.
Anyone could do it.
Anyone could be hired.
But the results told a different story.
Residents and businesses regularly complained about:
inconsistent quality
damage to surfaces
missed details
unreliable cleaners
Real cleaning requires knowledge.
Understanding materials.
Knowing how to remove limescale, mould and residue properly.
Knowing how to clean without leaving moisture, damage or chemical buildup behind.
It’s a skill. And it had been undervalued.
Batchmore was created by combining technical thinking with practical cleaning expertise.
Glen brings a software engineering mindset.
Monique brings deep operational experience.
Together, they designed a cleaning business built on systems, training and better choices.
The foundation is simple:
natural, people-friendly cleaning products
dry, low-moisture steam cleaning
structured methods based on surfaces and materials
skilled, trained professionals who take pride in their work

We clean offices and homes using dry steam as the foundation, combined with natural cleaning methods and environmentally friendly products to support safer living and working spaces.
